FIFA named the United States as host of the inaugural Women’s Club World Cup in its 22 October decision. The 19-team competition is scheduled for 5–30 January 2028, with seven clubs already confirmed.
A host for the inaugural edition
The United States will stage the first FIFA Women’s Club World Cup from 5 to 30 January 2028. FIFA’s Bureau of the Council confirmed the host in its 22 October announcement. The tournament will bring together 19 clubs from all six confederations.
Seven clubs already confirmed
FIFA lists Arsenal Women FC, Club América Femenil, FC Barcelona Femení, Gotham FC, Naegohyang Women’s FC, SC Corinthians and Wuhan Jiangda WFC as the first seven qualified clubs. Qualification prioritises continental champions from seasons ending between 2024 and 2027.
How the places are divided
UEFA has six places; the AFC, CAF, Concacaf and CONMEBOL have three each, and the OFC has one. FIFA says club rankings will fill the remaining places under the approved access principles. The new world tournament is distinct from the Women’s Champions Cup, whose next final phase is in Miami in January 2027.
